We actually recommend exploring Chefchaouen on your own. Unlike the massive, maze-like medina of Fes, Chefchaouen is quite small, laid-back, and very easy to navigate. You will have a wonderful time simply wandering the blue alleys, taking photos, and relaxing at a cafe in the Outa el Hammam main square.
We highly recommend wearing comfortable walking shoes, as the medina is built on a hillside and involves walking up and down steps. Because Chefchaouen is located in the mountains, the weather can be a bit cooler than in Fes, so bringing a light jacket or sweater is always a smart idea.
