In this 3-day Marrakech to Fes Desert tour in Morocco, you will have the opportunity to visit important cultural sites and experience the life of Moroccan desert people. Starting our trip from Marrakech, we will drive through Tizi-n-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains. Before reaching Ouarzazate, we will visit the Ait Ben Haddou village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where it seems like time is standing still.
Our next stops will be the Roses Valley and the small Berber villages of Skoura, El Kelaa des Mgouna, and Boumalne Dades. We will also visit the stunning Todra Gorges and Erfoud until we arrive in Merzouga, where the desert experience truly begins. Here, your camels will take you to a Berber camp where you will spend the night, immersing yourself in the nomadic Berber lifestyle.
On the last day of our 3-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, we will pass through Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Midelt, and the Cedar Forests of Azrou, home to Morocco’s population of Barbary Apes. We will also visit Ifrane before ending our journey in Fes, where the tour concludes. Book your trip today!

We’ll pick you up from your Riad or hotel at 08:00 AM to kick off our 3-day Marrakech to Fes Desert tour in Morocco. Our journey begins with a scenic drive through the breathtaking Dades Valley, passing Tizi-n-Tishka in the High Atlas Mountains for a glimpse of the stunning mountain vistas.
Our first highlight is the iconic Ait Ben Haddou village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its role in blockbuster films like ‘Lawrence of Arabia’ and ‘Gladiator.’ After lunch amidst this historic backdrop, we’ll continue our exploration, visiting landmarks like Taourirt Kasbah and the picturesque Roses Valley, before settling in Boumalne Dades for the night in a comfortable hotel/riad.
After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, our journey from Dades Valley continues towards Merzouga Desert, home to one of the largest wind-blown dunes in Morocco, Erg Chebbi. En route, we’ll pass through the Berber village of Tinghir to explore the awe-inspiring Todra Gorge, where cliffs soar up to 600 meters with only a 10-meter gap between them.
Leaving Todra behind, we’ll traverse numerous Berber villages, eventually reaching Tinjdad, where we can pause for lunch or opt to continue to Erfoud, renowned as the capital of fossils and dates. Here, you can savor traditional cuisine and explore the fossil museum.
After lunch, we’ll make our way to Merzouga, where our camel trek awaits. The camels will lead us to a Berber camp nestled in the heart of an oasis amidst the vast sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, stretching 20 kilometers in length and 5 kilometers in width, boasting the highest sand dunes in North Africa. It’s a truly unique and diverse environment.
The camel trek to the camp takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, where we’ll settle into Berber tents equipped with all modern facilities, ensuring a comfortable stay. As the sun sets behind the dunes, enjoy a nomadic Berber dinner in the midst of the desert. Afterward, gather around the campfire to revel in the mesmerizing rhythms of traditional Berber drums under the starlit sky, creating memories that will last a lifetime.
We’ll rise early to witness the captivating sunrise over the Sahara Desert dunes before returning to the camp for breakfast amidst the tranquil desert surroundings. Then, our journey continues from Merzouga to Fes, passing through scenic spots like Errachidia, Ziz Valley, Meditlt, Cedar Forests of Azrou, and Ifrane. Keep your eyes peeled for a chance encounter with the forest-dwelling monkeys. We’ll stop for a delightful lunch at one of the charming restaurants along the way.
