We will visit the Ait Ben Haddou village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and explore Ouarzazate, Roses Valley, and the Berber villages of Skoura, El Kelaa des Mgouna, and Boumalne Dades.
The next day of our desert trip, passing through Todra Gorges and Erfoud, we will arrive at Merzouga. Here, camels will take you to a Berber camp where you will spend the night, experiencing the nomadic Berber lifestyle. In the following days, you will visit Khamlia, a nomad family in their tent, Rissani, Alnif, Agdz, Tazarine, and the fascinating Draa Valley. We will pick you up from your Riad/Hotel at 08:00 to begin our 6 days Desert tour from Marrakech. Leaving Marrakech, we will head towards the Dades Valley, passing through Tizi-n-Tichka in the High Atlas Mountains. Here, we will stop to admire the stunning mountain views. The High Atlas Mountains are surrounded by beautiful landscapes and Berber villages, with their natural beauty creating a breathtaking setting.
Our first major stop is the Ait Ben Haddou village, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Famous as a backdrop for many films, including ‘Lawrence of Arabia,’ ‘Gladiator,’ and ‘Alexander,’ this village is a must-see. We will have lunch here before continuing our journey.
As we proceed, we will enjoy the natural beauty of the landscapes and historical monuments such as Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and the Roses Valley, renowned for the Festival of Roses. The journey reveals a diversity of incredible landscapes, from majestic mountains to green valleys and palm trees, leading us to the edge of the desert. After exploring Todra, we will travel through Berber villages to Tinjdad for lunch or continue to Erfoud, known for fossils and dates.
In Merzouga, camels will take us on a trek to a Berber camp amidst the Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest in North Africa. The 1.5-hour camel ride will lead us to the camp, where we will stay in well-equipped Berber tents. As the sun sets, enjoy a traditional Berber dinner followed by music around the campfire under the stars.

Stroll through the Rissani market’s corridors, where the sun’s rays filter through the roofs, highlighting the colors amidst the earthy tones. The air is filled with the scents of cumin and freshly tanned leather. Sellers may beckon you to view their wares, while others wait for your interest. As you walk among donkeys, bicycles, and cats, you’ll discover that centuries ago, Rissani was the first imperial city of Morocco and a significant caravan center connecting Sudan, the Gao salt mines, and southern Mauritanian towns. The current dynasty even originated in this area.
After exploring the market, return to the hotel to rest, with a free afternoon to relax. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
