Itinerary:

Day 1: Ouarzazate – Roses Valley – Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Merzouga Desert

The 2 days tour from Ouarzazate to Merzouga desert as we set off around 08:00 towards the mesmerizing Merzouga Desert. Along the way, we’ll traverse the Skoura Oasis and Roses Valley, renowned for its vibrant Festival of Roses. Passing through quaint Berber villages like Skoura, El Kelaa des M’Gouna, and Boumalne Dades, we’ll journey towards Merzouga, home to the imposing Erg Chebbi dunes, one of Morocco largest wind-blown dunes.

Our route unveils a diverse tapestry of landscapes, from majestic mountains to verdant valleys and palm groves, culminating in the vast expanse of the desert. En route, we’ll visit the stunning Todra Gorge, where cliffs soar to heights of 600m and stand just 10m apart. Continuing our journey, we’ll pass through Berber villages, with the option to stop for lunch in Tinjdad or proceed to Erfoud, known as the capital of fossils and dates.

After lunch, we’ll drive to Merzouga, where our camel trek awaits. Mounted on camels, we’ll traverse the dunes to reach a Berber camp nestled in an oasis amidst the sands of Erg Chebbi. Spanning 20 km in length and 5 km in width, these dunes are renowned as the highest in North Africa, offering a unique and diverse environment. Our camel trek to the camp takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, where we’ll settle into Berber tents equipped with all amenities, ensuring a comfortable stay. As the sun dips behind the dunes, enjoy a nomadic Berber dinner amidst the desert ambiance. After dinner, gather around the campfire to savor the mesmerizing rhythms of traditional Berber drums under the starlit sky, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

Day 2: Merzouga Desert – Tazarine – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate

Wake up early to witness what may be the most breathtaking sunrise of your life, as your camel man guides you back to the village of Merzouga. Along the way, marvel at the ever-changing beauty of the Erg Chebbi dunes, their contours shifting with the light as the day unfolds. Upon your late-morning arrival in Merzouga, indulge in a delicious breakfast at the hotel.

After breakfast, we’ll depart for the Draa Valley, home to Morocco longest river, adorned with quaint villages and hidden kasbahs. Our journey will be punctuated by stops to admire the awe-inspiring landscapes and unique geological formations. From the enchanting allure of the vast desert to the picturesque green valleys and traditional villages, you’ll be captivated by the diverse landscapes we traverse.
