Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga

Your adventure begins in Fes with an early departure toward the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first stop is Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco” for its alpine architecture, before continuing into the cedar forests of Azrou to spot wild Barbary macaques. As we descend toward the south, the scenery shifts into the Ziz Valley, a dramatic gorge framed by thousands of date palms. By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, you will meet your camel guides and ride across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi as the sun sets. Day 2: Deep Dive into the Sahara Desert

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani Market – Merzouga

After breakfast, we begin the day with a scenic drive from Merzouga toward Rissani, passing through rocky landscapes and small southeastern villages. Once in Rissani, we will explore the lively local market, where farmers, traders, and craftsmen gather to sell fresh produce, spices, and traditional goods. Wander through the old streets to discover the town’s unique architecture. Rissani is famous for its local food culture, making this an excellent opportunity to taste traditional Moroccan dishes closely connected to the region. Day 4: Merzouga – Erfoud – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley

Here, enormous limestone cliffs rise dramatically on either side of a narrow river valley. Enjoy a peaceful walk through the gorge, taking in the cool atmosphere created by the towering walls. Day 5: Dades Valley – Valley of Roses – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

Today’s drive takes us along the legendary Road of a Thousand Kasbahs. We pass through the fragrant Valley of Roses before arriving in Ouarzazate, the gateway to Morocco’s film industry. The highlight of the day is Ait Ben Haddou, a stunning UNESCO World Heritage site and one of the most recognizable fortified villages in the country. After exploring its narrow earthen lanes, we begin our ascent into the High Atlas Mountains. Day 6: Discover the Red City of Marrakech

Your luggage travels securely with you in the vehicle the entire time. When you ride the camels into the Sahara for your overnight stay, you only need to pack a small overnight bag. Your driver will safely lock your main luggage in the vehicle or at our secure desert lodge until the next morning.
