Itinerary:

Day 1 : Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Draa Valley – Zagora

Pick up in the morning at the hotel in Marrakech. Welcome and the route begins! We will cross the High Atlas (Tizi N’Tichka) making stops in places from which you can enjoy great panoramic views. We will go through the ksar of Ait Ben Haddou, where films such as Gladiator, The Jewel of the Nile, Game of Thrones and other exotic scenes about ancient Egypt and Rome were shot.

We will stop at Ouarzazate (Great Desert door) where the most important film studios in Morocco called Atlas Studios are located. From Ouarzazate, we will head south through the Tinififft pass (1660 m) to descend towards the valley of the Draa River, surrounded by mountains. In ancient times, this area was the route followed by the caravans that crossed the Atlas to Timbuktu, in Black Africa. This road is full of Kasbas surrounded by palm trees and continues through the valley to the interior of the Sahara through Zagora and Mhamid.

The town of Agdz is located 70 km from Ouarzazate and is dominated by Mount Jebel Kissane, 1535 meters high. Next, we will arrive at Zagora, located 164 km away, at the foot of the Anti Atlas, in the valley of the Draa River. It is located in a large palm grove surrounded by fruit trees that is lost in the sands of the Sahara. It is a city founded in the Middle Ages by the Saadians as a gateway to the conquest of Morocco and the Sahara and departure of caravans.

At the end of the day, we will take the dromedaries to get to our camp in the desert just to watch the sunset and enjoy the spectacular starry sky at night. We will have dinner accompanied by Berber music with drums and we will sleep in a jaima in the heart of the desert.

Day 2 : Zagora – Ouarzazate – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech

It’s worth getting up early to see the sunrise in the desert. In the morning we will take the dromedaries again or else in 4×4. After breakfast we will leave for Ouarzazate. We will stop for lunch in the Draa Valley. We will continue through the High Atlas through the port of Tizzi n Tichka (2260 meters of altitude) with stops with panoramic views.

We will visit the argan oil cooperative, where they will teach us the production process. We will pass through the fertile Zat valley, a small Berber paradise in the heart of the High Atlas. Here we find the small Berber villages with traditional architecture built on the hillside. Most potatoes, turnips, olives, figs and tomatoes from Morocco are grown here, where most potatoes, turnips, olives, figs and tomatoes from Morocco are grown. Arrival in Marrakech.
